As COVID-19 levels remain up across Sask., experts warn that a prolonged surge of infections could be coming as fall and winter returns.
Omicron remains the prevalent variant at this time, accounting for nearly all infections since the peak of the wave in April. Muhajarine warned that variants and sublineages, including those stemming from Omicron, are converging and becoming more resistant to immunities like vaccination and virus antibodies.
