Cooper Rush is going to ride this thing out with the Cowboys for however long he can. Who can argue with the results, after all?
Entering this season, Rush had thrown just 50 career passes over four seasons. Entering Sunday, he has completed 62 of 102 passes for 737 yards and four touchdowns this season. Perhaps most importantly, he hasn’t been intercepted.
Jones thinks so, too, gushing that Rush “knows where the cars are on the freeway. He gets a good ball to the receivers, [and] they have confidence in him.’’ Quarterback Matthew Stafford, who had a magical year in his first season with the Rams in 2021, has been inconsistent — as he was in the loss last week, with two picks. Oddly, Rams coach Sean McVay lauded Stafford after the game for his play.
In the first four games last season, Stafford passed for 1,222 yards with 11 TDs and just two INTs. Through four games this season, he has thrown for 1,015 yards with four TDs and a league-high six INTs.
