A heat check comes this weekend when the Aaron Rodgers-led New York Jets visit AT&T Stadium.
Jake Ferguson and Peyton Hendershot are in their second seasons. Second-round pick Luke Schoonmaker just made his NFL debut. Occasional lapses are to be expected, ideally being mixed in with enough positives to offset them.Ferguson uncharacteristically dropped two passes, including one on third down. Hendershot dropped a pass near the goal line that very well could have resulted in a touchdown.
This is an important group to monitor, as it moves forward without Dalton Schultz. He is now on the Houston Texans. It will be interesting to hear how the mixed outing was processed internally and where it builds from here. All three Cowboys tight ends delivered a key block Sunday on Tony Pollard's 25-yard run, along with such others as pulling LG Chuma Edoga. The dropped passes need to be cleaned up; position group had three . But this was well executed.
