Kimbrel comes aboard after Los Angeles lost closer Kenley Jansen. Jansen led the Dodgers with 38 saves in 2021, but he signed with the Atlanta Braves last month. In 12 Major League seasons, Kimbrel has a 35-29 record with a 2.18 earned-run average and 372 saves. In 646 relief appearances, Kimbrel has struck out 1,026 in 628.1 innings. Only eight players in MLB history have had more saves than Kimbrel.In his 10th MLB season, Pollock batted .297 with 21 home runs, nine stolen bases, .355 on-base average and .536 slugging percentage for the Dodgers in 2021.
The White Sox used Kimbrel in a setup role in front of their All-Star closer, Liam Hendriks, who finished the 2021 season with 38 saves.
