Cranbrook headmaster Nicholas Sampson has resigned after the relationship between him and the school’s governing council suffered an “irrevocable breakdown of trust” amid new allegations concerning a teacher at the eastern suburbs institution.
“The circumstances of the matter and subsequently Mr Sampson’s failure to disclose the matter to the current school council in the context of this week’s ABCbroadcast, have led to an irrevocable breakdown of trust between the headmaster and the school council.” Michele Marquet, Cranbrook’s current head of the junior school, has been appointed acting headmaster.
“The school council is committed to the best interests of our students, staff and school in all of its decision making.
