has seen the motorway closed and delays in place this morning . The M1 Southbound is closed with "long delays" due to emergency bridge repairs according to travel provider Inrix.
It is from the J20 A4304 Lutterworth Road to J19 M6 on the Northamptonshire/Leicestershire border. There is congestion to M6 J1 and the A426 through Cotesbatch. There are also five miles of queues on approach on the northbound side, as traffic heading westbound on the A14 is forced onto the motorway. The M6 is also closed in both directions as it joins the A14 under the M1 J19.There was a lorry overhanging on the bridge however this has been recovered and repairs are underway. A diversion is in place through the A5 but this is "heavily congested".
