Some of the supporting characters are taking centre stage.
Charlie is her first love and she was previously engaged to him, but her parents forced that to come an end as they didn't see him as a suitable match.
As detailed in the first film, she was then married to Michael but discovered that he was having an affair, and that he blamed his unhappiness all on her. She walked out on him eventually, and in the post-credits she smiled when she saw Charlie at a party, setting up this spin-off.
