An opportunistic cricket fan's attempt to meet Australian Test and Sydney Thunder BBL opener, Sam Konstas , ended in comical disaster. In footage posted by the Thunder, Konstas arrives at training on Wednesday when a man spots him wheeling his cricket bag into the facility. Eager for a photo, autograph, or even just a hello, the man quickly backs into a disabled carpark and bursts out of his car.
As he runs towards Konstas, who by then had walked out of shot, there was a problem: his car wasn't idle yet. Whether he left the car in neutral and forgot to put the handbrake on or had a malfunction, it didn't matter. The car started rolling forward towards a Mitsubishi Lancer parked directly opposite. Realizing only when he was about 10 meters away, the man turned around in a panic, almost tripping over his own feet as he rushed back. His car was rolling towards the Lancer and had crashed into it by the time he got to the door. This hilarious incident, captured on camera, was shared online and quickly went viral. Many commented on the man's desperation and poor parking choices. The incident is amusing fodder for fans, but it highlights the often-intense interest surrounding Konstas, a rising star in Australian cricket.
