Media-savvy criminal defence lawyer Michael Kuzilny is accused of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment by a former employee. The lawyer denies the allegations, claiming they are false and taken out of context.
Michael Kuzilny, a prominent criminal defence lawyer known for his media presence and catchphrase 'tough times never last, tough people do', is facing legal action from a former employee. The ex-staff member, Roadknight, who worked as Kuzilny’s executive assistant and operations manager between November 2018 and September 2020, claims she experienced unwelcome sexual advances, physical harassment, and a pressurised work environment.
Roadknight alleges that Kuzilny would regularly hug her and give her shoulder massages without her consent, and on one occasion, put his head on her lap and said: 'Why does this feel so right?' She further alleges that Kuzilny made unsolicited sexual advances, including inviting her to dinner and expressing his love for her in voicemails. Roadknight claims she rejected Kuzilny's advances and informed him she was in a relationship. Following her rejection, Roadknight alleges Kuzilny retaliated by pressuring her and using abusive language, stating she was overpaid and had low intelligence. Kuzilny, who has relocated from Melbourne to Sydney and appeared as a legal expert on morning television, denies these allegations, stating they are false, misleading, and taken out of context. He claims they were never raised during Roadknight's employment and only surfaced long after she left. Kuzilny has retained the legal firm Wisewould Mahony to represent him
