Sky News Senior Reporter Adam Walters says a notice has been given to criminals who have escaped justice due to the “bungling” of the DNA laboratories in Queensland as the government will look into “double jeopardy” laws.
“A hefty document of failure dating back to 2008 and the denial of justice for so many victims since then.
“This inquiry into DNA bungling has had so much publicity that there may be a real risk of serious offenders looking up countries that don’t have an extradition treaty with Australia.

Sky News Australia obtained the 2021 report on one of the houses which stated that the houses “present a risk of serious injury…” in thunder downbursts. Director of building control Mark Meldrum told Sky News Australia “the buildings have issues” but he has not “deemed them to be of a risk to the extent of issuing orders or notices on the owners”.
