Crisis averted: England resume Test after positive COVID case in family group
Day two of the MCG Ashes Test was briefly delayed as England awaited the results of COVID-19 rapid antigen tests after four positive cases were recorded among the camp.
“There is currently no further impact on fans or other parts of the venue. Cricket Australia and the MCC [Melbourne Cricket Club] will continue to monitor the situation and follow the endorsed Victorian Government COVID-Safe Event Plan.” Ricky Ponting, Mel McLaughlin and Tim Lane among others have been scrubbed from Seven’s Ashes coverage of the MCG Test due to a positive COVID-19 case.
