Critical incident remains in place at Dover with queues of one hour to clear passport control ➡️ Local authorities warned that the disruption could last all summer
July 25, 2022 8:59 am
The ferry operator DFDS told passengers that there were “queues of around an hour” for French border checks this morning, and to “allow a minimum of 120 minutes before your departure to complete all controls”. Operation Brock was blamed for part of the disruption, after a 24-mile stretch of the M20 was effectively turned into a lorry park for 3,500 vehicles after officials decided to close it., as it urged the Government to increase investment in Dover’s “fragile” infrastructure to help reduce bottlenecks.
Mr Howe added that it would take “very little to cause further issues” over the summer. “Basically it’s a very vulnerable situation,” he said.
