Shellie Bradley, 35, says she had not planned on watching the funeral outdoors but found herself “drawn” towards the big screen while she was out on a run and saw a crowd gathering. While the use of big outdoor screens is usually reserved for sporting events and music festivals rather than funerals, those who attended said they appreciated the chance to share the experience with others, even if it was in a hushed, reverential way.
