A memorial will be taken apart for repairs as “significant degradation” puts it at risk.

The Croxley Green War Memorial bears the names of 55 First World War soldiers and 79 soldiers from the Second World War.It said: “The decision to undertake these repairs comes as a result of significant degradation of the concrete bonding previously used to hold the memorial stones together, posing a potential risk of structural failure.

Deteriorated concrete bonding will be removed and replaced with a safe chemical glue which will “withstand the test of time”, the council said, having allocated £1,500 towards the work.
