Embattled cryptocurrency social media influencer Alex Saunders has blamed drug addiction for the loss of millions of dollars in investor funds he collected last year.
found more than 100 investments from retail investors as well as friends and family totalling around $US11 million flowed into cryptocurrency wallets linked to Mr Saunders’, following a series of speculative business proposals he had spruiked via his paid membership group.
“Although my intentions were always good, I had taken on too much, put myself in a number of situations I shouldn’t have and take full responsibility for the mess I made and those I let down.”revealed a large a portion of those investments were quickly transferred to FTX, a US-based cryptocurrency derivatives exchange.
