A cult Australian fast-food chain is hoping to kick off a fiesta this weekend as it plans to redecorate in honour of Cinco de Mayo.
A popular Aussie restaurant chain will be pulling out the feathers this Sunday, as it recognises a major cultural celebration.
Cinco de Mayo — translated literally as May 5 — celebrates Mexico’s underdog victory against an invading French Empire army at an 1862 battle in Puebla. The chain was founded by Steven Marks and Hilton Brett in 2006 and has grown to more than 200 stores worldwide. Picture: Supplied “The dance is called Danza de los Quetzales and is symbolic of the Quetzal bird, you’ll see the vibrant colours and feathers inspired by the dance at your local GYG,” the store said.
