UPMC has purchased the building formerly occupied by PA Media Group at 2020 Technology Parkway in Hampden Twp. That’s how much the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center recently paid for the three-story building at 2020 Technology Parkway in Cumberland Technology Park in Hampden Township in January, according to Bailey Hall, a spokesperson for the real estate company CBRE, which represented the seller in the real estate transaction.the building purchase last month.
The building was previously home to PennLive’s newsroom and advertising department for a decade. The Patriot-News/PennLive’s business offices, newsroom and its advertising department moved into the third floor of the building in 2010 from its former offices on Market Street in Harrisburg. In 2013, some of the newspaper’s operations moved next door to The Patriot-News plant at 1900 Patriot Drive. The newsroom and advertising department moved to the first floor of the building that year.
Other companies that have occupied the building over the years include Novitas Solutions and IBM. Novitas is still leasing space in the building, a spokesperson for UPMC confirmed. Officials for Novitas couldn’t be reached for comment.
