A cyclist allegedly smashed the front of a bus during a Sydney road rage incident that the union claims shows the impacts of cost of living stresses. 9News
NSW Police said a cyclist stopped in front of a stationary bus on Rosebery Avenue, and pulled a chain from their backpack yesterday afternoon.The cyclist appeared to smash the bus window.Transport for NSW said the agency is aware of the incident and working with police to investigate.
It comes after a TikTok user posted the ordeal on the social media platform calling it a "horrifying" attack.Rail, Tram and Bus Union NSW branch secretary David Babineau blamed cost of living pressures and lack of wage rises on the road rage attack."This is an issue of someone who has hit their limit and we're seeing more and more that across the transport network as people face things like the rising cost of living and a lack of pay rises.
Babineau added the bus driver is physically okay but is shocked after the incident and Transport for NSW as well as the union will support them.This driving offence could see you lose 14 demerit points
