DEVELOPING: D.C. cop among several injured in shooting less than two miles from the White House
WASHINGTON, D.C.—“Multiple” people were reported shot in Washington, D.C., on Sunday evening, according to city authorities. At least one police officer was reported injured, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Department said., at roughly 8:20pm.
A MPD officer told The Daily Beast that the shooting had occurred outside of the subway on U and 14th Street. Before 10 p.m., the officer added, authorities had been given the command to spread out, as the shooter might have remained “lingering in the crowd.”“I don’t even know shit going on,” one person on scene named Kay told the Beast. “This shit crazy.”
A 16-year-old girl was also reported as having been fatally shot on Sunday night, but it did not appear as though the incidents were connected. The teenage girl was hit around 6:30 p.m. in the 4400 block of Third Street SE, according to
