To the outside world, he had it all. Then it came crashing down
But the higher up the professional ladder he climbed, and the more he earned, the worse it got.
Driving a Land Rover Discovery Sport and earning a six-figure wage, Steve believed he had been successful in hiding his alcoholism from the outside world for a number of years. Thinking he was in recovery, Steve abstained from alcohol for six months in 2019. However, his journey with addiction was far from over, as he then attempted suicide, bringing him back into rehab for a third time.
Then, during the height of the coronavirus pandemic, Steve recalls sitting alone at home and "feeling sorry" for himself. Moving back to Chorley in 2021, Steve began his recovery journey - first off, quitting his job in the construction industry. Soon after, the dad-of-three realised what his calling in life actually is.
