UPDATE: A Queensland dad, waiting to pick up his own child from school, has lost control of his car, smashing into six kids waiting for their parents.
Emergency services rushed to the Australian Christian College in Caboolture just after 3pm to reports six people had been hit by a car.
Nine crews attended the scene on Cottrill Rd in the Moreton Bay region where the dad is believed to have mistook the brake for the accelerator in the school car park.The car smashed into the school wall. Picture: David ClarkQueensland Police confirmed a 42-year-old dad from the area was entering the school’s carpark to pick up his own child when the horrific incident occured.Sergeant Greg Price described the scene as “panic stations”.“No-one knew what was going on. It was basically chaos.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesman confirmed a primary school-aged child was rushed to Queensland Children’s Hospital with significant leg and wrist injuries. Another child and a female teenager were also taken to Queensland Children’s Hospital with significant leg injuries and lacerations.The fifth patient, a female teenager, was taken to Redcliffe Hospital in a stable condition with injuries to her legs.The final patient, believed to be the driver, was taken to Caboolture Hospital as a precaution.
