Daily coronavirus cases in New South Wales have soared to 804 on Tuesday - an increase of more than 250 - the day before restrictions ease for the unvaccinated.
The 804 cases are the highest daily total recorded in the state since October 2 where 814 infections were detected.
There are currently 168 COVID-19 cases in hospital, down from 171 one day earlier, and 21 of those receiving care in ICU, which is three less than on Monday.
