Daisy Edgar-Jones has described the ‘life-changing’ fame that came with starring in Normal People. The actress became a star overnight thanks to the hugely popular BBC series - but because of lockdown, she, like the rest of us, was trapped indoors.
In normal times Daisy and Paul would have been strutting the red carpet, appearing on star-studded talk shows and rubbing shoulders with other celebrities.
In a new interview, Daisy has been reflecting on the speed and scale of the fame, and how ‘strange’ it was to go from ‘being just Daisy to being a full name, being Daisy Edgar-Jones.’ Daisy, who played Marianne in the acclaimed series, described it as ‘a really slow sort of introduction’ to fame, and optimistically said it meant she was ‘able to really focus on what mattered.’‘But now that the world has opened up a little and I’m more able to be around people a bit more now, I can really feel that.’Daisy admitted she was in disbelief that it’s been two years since Normal People aired and ‘people still want to talk’ about it.
