A demonstration was held to urge officials to maintain acute services at Daisy Hill Hospital.
It was also revealed that a shortage of consultations meant delivering inpatient care in general medicine was at risk.

"I assured both groups I met today that these concerns are shared by the department and the trust," he said."I believe a way forward can be found to safeguard services and, crucially, to continue to protect and support the hospital's Emergency Department." Mr May said the department and Southern Health Trust would work to ensure a "sustainable future" for Daisy Hill Hospital.Related Topics
