Daisy Ridley has signed on to star in a TV series exploring Agatha Christie's real-life disappearance.
Daisy Ridley is set to star in an adaptation of the novel The Christie Affair, which is inspired by a real-life incident involving iconic mystery author Agatha Christie. Ridley is best known for playing Rey in the Star Wars sequel trilogy beginning with 2015's Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. One of her first major film roles outside the franchise was actually another Christie project, the 2017 Kenneth Branagh adaptation Murder on the Orient Express.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Per Deadline, Ridley is set to star in and executive produce in a television series adaptation of Nina de Gramont's 2022 novel The Christie Affair for Miramax TV. This will be the first project she has executive produced since the 2016 film The Eagle Huntress, for which she also provided a voice.
This novel is a functionalization of real events. While it's true that Neele was a real person, the events of the novel are strictly conjecture. The real-life facts of the case begin on December 3, 1926, when Christie left her home carrying an attaché case and didn't return until 11 days later. In a plot twist straight out of one of her classic novels , her car was found abandoned in a ditch with her fur coat still inside.
She was later discovered in the Swan Hydropathic Hotel, safe and sound, and returned to her life, where she wrote 60 more novels until her death in 1976. While The Christie Affair can only present a possible vision of what happened during those 11 days, it does seem to have something to do with the affair, as the morning before her disappearance she was reportedly informed that Archie wanted a divorce.

Everything you never knew about Dallas' underground pedestrian tunnels - Texas Wants to KnowDallas has about three miles of subterranean tunnels and sky bridges that crisscross the city, but aside from a few food courts beneath office highrises, they're largely vacant. If that's the case, why are they there in the first place? And what is the future of the empty space? Baylee Friday gets a tour of the tunnels from Dallas software developer Michael Sitarzewski, who took an interest in them and knows every nook and cranny. Then, Dustin Bullard, chief of urban transformation for Downtown Dallas Inc., and Dallas City Council member Paul Ridley, whose district includes most of the tunnels, explain the vision for downtown and whether the underground space has a place in it.
