A Dalai Lama reincarnation candidate chosen by communist China is not to be trusted, the Tibetan spiritual leader warns.
The comment has prompted Beijing to say the reincarnation"must comply with Chinese laws and regulations".The Dalai Lama has warned about his reincarnation being used for political endsThe 14th Dalai Lama, who fled Tibet for India, said he expected his reincarnated being to be discovered in India this time around.
"In future, in case you see two Dalai Lamas come, one from here, in free country, one chosen by Chinese, then nobody will trust, nobody will respect [the one chosen by China]," he said.The 83-year-old is regarded as a dangerous separatist by China, which seized control of Tibet in 1950. This week, when China's Foreign Ministry was questioned about the Dalai Lama's stance, spokesman Geng Shuang said:"I knew you would come up with this question, and let me give you an authoritative reply.
