Broadnax’s evaluation will happen at the same closed session Tuesday meeting as the reviews of three other top appointed city officials.
Broadnax’s evaluation will happen at the same meeting as the reviews of other top appointed officials: City Attorney Chris Caso, City Secretary Bilierae Johnson and City Auditor Mark Swann.
The officials were set to have their annual evaluation together this year, like last year, but the mayor and several city council members tried to push up Broadnax’s review to June after it appeared there was majority support on the 15-member council to potentially fire the city manager. Johnson and other city officials expressed frustration with Broadnax’s handling of months-long delays in granting building permits; issues with pay and failing equipment for firefighters; poor data management oversight; and other concerns.announced long-term plans to work more closely together to address city issues
. The announcement came after some council members pulled their endorsement of a June evaluation for Broadnax amid lobbying by several powerful politicians and organizations that wanted the Dallas city manager to keep his job. The city manager, auditor and secretary were all approved for raises by the city council after their evaluations last year.
