Dallas courts are underperforming | Opinion

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins, center, and county commissioners listen to a presentation during a Dallas County Commissioners Court meeting at the Dallas County Administration Building in Dallas on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. You don’t have to talk to too many trial lawyers in Dallas before you get an earful about the poor function of many Dallas County courts.County commissioners John Wiley Price and J.J. Koch have been calling attention to the problem for some time.

In a city where crime has been soaring for years and police have been begging for more help from prosecutors and the courts, the opening is unfortunate in itself. He digs into the numbers and he exposes what the numbers tell.
