Dallas developer Todd Interests declined the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department's appraisal-based offer for Fairfield Lake State Park, which could lead to...
as a public place. At the same time, it submitted an initial offer for the land, which Todd Interests did not accept.
Chandler declined to say how much the offer was, citing property code. Earlier this year, the state legislature appropriated $125 million for park acquisition statewide.
Todd also accused TPWD of creating a false narrative surrounding the lake and land in an attempt to “artificially drive down the value of our property,” such as the department hiring a law firm to allege the fish in Fairfield Lake have been potentially contaminated with toxic materials produced from the former coal-fired power plant.
