Dallas activity center aims to prevent falls before they happen - KRLD NewsFall is here, and it's a good time to talk about fall prevention, the leading cause of fatal and nonfatal injuries in older adults. Dallas Park and Recreation Department have teamed up with Wellmed Charitable Foundation to offer adults ages 60 and older a 22,000-square-foot state-of-the-art health and wellness center. One side of the facility provides health and wellness programs while the other is a WellMed primary care clinic that will provide complimentary health care services, such as diabetes screenings and flu shots, to center members. A critical part of keeping that balance in our lives is staying active. WellMed at Redbird Square Senior Activity Center features state-of-the-art exercise equipment and access to professional fitness advisors to help older adult members develop customized fitness plans. All services are available at no cost.
