The Dallas Zoo welcomed the birth of Tikiti, a female baby warthog. Guests may see Tikiti out on habitat at Giants of the Savanna.
DALLAS — There’s one more member of the warthog family at the Dallas Zoo.
The zoo announced the birth of Tikiti, a female baby warthog. She was born on Feb. 17 to mom Weela, and dad Toby. Her name means “watermelon” in Swahili. According to the zoo, she wasn’t as active as the animal care team hoped she’d be. The team stepped in and has since been providing around-the-clock care to ensure she is getting everything she needs.
Guests may see Tikiti out on habitat at Giants of the Savanna. You also might spot one of her zoologists out in the habitat with her too, to get little Tikiti comfortable in the big habitat. BABY PIGLET ALERT: Meet Tikiti, the newest addition to our warthog family. Born on February 17, to mom Weela, and dad Toby, this little ball of cuteness is stealing our hearts!
