UPDATED: Damien football coach placed on leave after Bishop Amat football player alleges assault
La Verne Police Lt. Jason Prows confirmed that an investigation into a battery charge involving coaches from Damien High stemming from Friday’s game is underway.
The Archdiocese of Los Angeles, which oversees Damien and Bishop Amat, sent a letter to parents on Saturday evening indicating that it is aware of the investigation and that a Damien football coach named in the incident report had been placed on leave pending the result of the investigation with the La Verne Police Department and the Archdiocese.
