He's been married to Anne White for 30 years and has known her for more than 40. And even White knows that he was wrong. "Dana and I have been married for almost 30 years. To say this is out of character for him is an understatement. Nothing like this has ever happened before. Unfortunately, we were both drinking too much on New Year's Eve and things got out of control, on both sides. We've talked this through as a family and apologized to each other. I just hope people will respect our privacy for the sake of our kids.
For much of his adult life, he's gone at near-warp speed to build the UFC. There is still more to be done, but he has a large and capable staff and it's no longer just a one-man job or one-man journey. It's OK to slow down. It's OK to relax and to no longer feel the need to push. Long-term, White is critical to the UFC's success. In the short term, though, there are plenty of those who can fill his place while White figures out how to right this wrong.
