Fugitive sex offender Richard Scatchard seen leaving a pub in Minehead with his girlfriend hours before she was found dead at his home.
A decaying body found in a remote caravan is believed to be that of a missing sex offender wanted for questioning over his girlfriend's murder, police said today.
The formal identification process has not yet been completed but police suspect the man is likely to be Scatchard. Advertisement The force said he was wanted on recall to prison, as well as in connection with the murder investigation into the death of Ms Faiers, who he had befriended. 'Until that has been completed we will be treating the man's death as unexplained, albeit we are not aware of any suspicious circumstances at this time.
