On Monday, the inquiry into Victoria’s hotel quarantine heard the failed system is to blame for the deadly second wave which resulted in 768 deaths. “After the first wave had been through and things were looking ok, he then conked it up,” Mr Bernardi told Sky News host Paul Murray. “Knowing exactly what he was supposed to do and was meant to do, he compromised the system and it led to 760 odd people in Victoria dying as a result. “That’s the guts of it all.
