Victorian Premier DanielAndrewsMP has revealed the state’s plan to keep woolworths, ALDIAustralia and Coles shelves stocked amid critical shortages of staff sparked by the recent Omicron wave. COVID19 7NEWS

Premier Daniel Andrews said the regime would shut down chains of transmission, although cases were inevitable once students go back.

Over Victoria’s previous six lockdowns, hundreds of thousands of students studied from home for more than 150 days. But unlike NSW, a third vaccine dose will become compulsory for Victorian school and early childhood staff by February 25, or within three months and two weeks of having their second jab.Victoria’s third dose rate has risen to over 30 per cent as a four-day “booster blitz” continues at eight state-run hubs.

There are free ice creams and bottles of water at major clinics with the temperature set to reach 33C in Melbourne on Monday. Hours at major hubs including Bendigo, La Trobe University and Sandown have been extended specifically for the blitz, while more than 100 GPs and pharmacies across the state will receive grants to provide additional appointments.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews flagged the possibility the booster would soon become mandatory for a person to be considered fully vaccinated, noting a mandate was imposed for several essential industries last week.
