He was asked why it was appropriate for Ms Mikakos to step aside now, before the findings of the hotel inquiry are released.Mr Andrews said he will wait until those findings are released before he determines the next course of action, and was adamant he would not be standing down."I have a very important job to do and that is to get those case numbers down. I don't run from challenges…and I am going to get it done.

Daniel Andrews wanted Jenny Mikakos’ ‘scalp’ to make himself ‘look good’ | Sky News AustraliaVictorian Shadow Health Minister Georgie Crozier says Premier Daniel Andrews “needs to go” next after her Labor counterpart Jenny Mikakos quit Cabinet and flagged her intention to leave parliament amid the state’s hotel quarantine inquiry.\n\nMr Andrews named Health Minister Mikakos accountable for the failed hotel quarantine program at Friday’s inquiry.\n\n“He threw her under a bus yesterday at the hotel inquiry, he wanted a scalp to make him look good, but, honestly, he has got a lot to answer for,” Ms Crozier told Sky News.\n\n“She’s gone now but only on Thursday Daniel Andrews was backing her and said he had confidence in her.\n\n“He has lied, he has actually made so many cover-ups, or said so many cover-ups, in relation to this whole dreadful situation.\n\n“And he’s still got his position, he says accountability stops with him, he needs to go too.”\n\nMs Crozier said her party has a no-confidence motion in parliament and called on state MPs to ask themselves if Labor and Premier Andrews are “right for Victoria”. \n\n“We had in this inquiry 10 senior bureaucrats that couldn’t tell us who appointed the security guards in the hotel quarantine program,” Ms Crozier said.\n\n“Three ministers, including Minister Mikakos and the premier, none of them knew.\n\n“They all need to go.”\n\nMs Crozier attacked Labor for a “litany of failures” which she said would plague Victorians for years. \n\n“Every man, woman and child are going to pay the price of this government’s mistakes for years to come,” she said. \n\n“Hundreds of people have lost their lives, and people are losing their livelihoods, their businesses are going broke, they won’t re-open.
