Activists from climate change group Just Stop Oil have vowed to remain on top of the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge until they are ‘brought down’.
Highways England confirmed the bridge at the Dartford Crossing remains closed this morning.
There is already six miles of slow moving traffic formed in both directions of the major road linking Essex and Kent. Essex Police said it is working to ‘safely resolve’ the situation as the campaigners were still ‘at height’.
