David Coulthard Takes To The Streets Of Monaco In An Aston Martin Valkyrie | Carscoops carscoops
In between his various Formula 1 duties, David Coulthard was recently spotted behind the wheel of an, although it wasn’t on a track and instead on the tight and congested roads of Monaco. Few, if any, cars make a statement quite like the Valkyrie, and much to our surprise, it doesn’t seem all that difficult to drive in traffic.
The first thing that may strike you about the Valkyrie is not the remarkable note of the 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated Cosworth V12 but instead the whine from the transmission. Like a race car, the Aston Martin Valkyrie uses a single-clutch sequential transmission with straight-cut gears and when driven at low speeds, this gearbox makes a lot of noise.
It is unclear if Coulthard actually owns this Valkyrie. However, given his wealth and relationship with Red Bull Racing which played an important role in the development of the British hypercar, we suspect it probably is his car. The YouTuber who filmed this clip notes that it is chassis #086 of the 150 vehicles built and is finished in Marina Blue with a light blue Alcantara interior.
