The Liberal National Party has won the 2024 Queensland election, with David Crisafulli securing a majority victory on Saturday after a race which was much closer than analysts had originally predicted.

The 15 seat gain may still improve further in the coming hours, as the more than two million early votes continue to flow through across the state.Addressing supporters in the party's campaign headquarters, Mr Crisafulli thanked those in attendance for helping secure victory as he recommitted to honouring his key election pledges.
"History will show this is the turning point in the Queensland health crisis, and ambulance ramping will not remain the highest in the country, at 45 per cent ... and history will show this is the night we began turning the corner and giving young people hope of owning their home again." While the margin is smaller than he may have hoped, Mr Crisafulli struck an optimistic tone on Saturday as he discussed the potential for"generational government" for the LNP in Queensland."If you believe in the values of your political movement and the people of your state, it has to be about generational government, so we govern with humility and decency and vision and tenacity and, in doing so, we get the opportunity to govern for a longer period of time.
The Labor leader did not congratulate his rival, or directly concede defeat, instead insisting he would"never stop fighting" as he concluded his speech and departed the stage. "I want to start by thanking premier Steven Miles for his service as deputy premier of this state and, indeed, as the premier, and to think that the son of a factory worker could be the 40th premier of his state, that tells you everything you need to know about how great Queensland is," he said.
