David Olusoga to deliver keynote speech at Anti Racist Summit

The acclaimed British-Nigerian author and broadcaster will give his address at Keswick’s Theatre By The Lake in NovemberHISTORIAN AND broadcaster David Olusoga will deliver the keynote address at this year’s Anti Racist Summit Cumbria 2023 it has been announced.

Olusoga will deliver a morning keynote and Q&A at the event which will take place in November at Keswick’s Theatre By The Lake. For the past two years the sell-out event has taken place at Brewery Arts in Kendal, Cumbria. However this year organisers took the decision to move the event to meet demand.

Janett Walker CEO of Anti Racist Cumbria which organises the summit, said: “We are over the moon to bring such a prestigious keynote to Cumbrian audiences. This year’s Summit will be brighter, bolder and more experiential than ever before. We want the event to continue being an inspiring space for connections, taking action, healing, continuing people’s education and moving the conversation and anti-racism forward.

As well as a range of talks the Summit will include wellbeing events and music and art panel discussions, and conversations aimed at providing attendees with a comprehensive full-day experience aimed at addressing the issue of racism. Anti Racist Cumbria began life as a voluntary organisation, today we are a registered charity which works with a range of organisations, educators, and communities on anti-racism issues.
