However in a statement released on Wednesday afternoon, Ms Palaszczuk said the surgery on Wednesday morning “could not be delayed” - and that she would address the media a day later, on Thursday.“I am in the office working but unfortunately it means I am unable to conduct a media conference this afternoon. In the report, Professor Coaldrake identifies a number of issues within the public sector including a culture that is “too tolerant” of bullying.
“Part of the problem is an identifiable loss of capacity in the public service which has been accelerated by what is now an overreliance on external contractors and consultants,” he said in the report. “All of these matters are compounded by a culture too tolerant of bullying, unwilling to give life to unfashionable points of view and dominated by the occupational hazard of all governments, short-term political thinking.Recommendations put forward including strengthening the position of the Auditor-General and of lobbying regulations. In a social media post Ms Palaszczuk vowed her government will accept all of the recommendations put forward.
