A man will face a six-day contested committal hearing in September for the Daylesford pub crash that led to the death of five people.The man accused of driving his car into the outdoor dining area of a regional Victorian pub last year, killing five people, will face a six-day court hearing in September.
He is charged with five counts of culpable driving causing death, two counts of negligently causing serious injury, and seven counts of reckless conduct endangering life.At a previous court hearing in December, lawyers for Mr Swale indicated he would be pleading not guilty, arguing the crash was the result of a medical episode.Pratibha Sharma, her partner Jatin Kumar, and her daughter Anvi were killed in a crash in Daylesford on November 5.
"We have a number of deceased. the deceased's families and the community more broadly it is in interests that this matter proceeds as soon as is possible," she said. Mr Swale joined today's hearing online, speaking only to respond to the magistrate at the end of the hearing and said he had no questions.
