AFL: Carlton were way too good for Geelong at the MCG, recording a 63-point win powered in large part from Tom De Koning.
Four-time premiership Hawk Jordan Lewis has lauded “main event Carlton” in the wake of its powerful statement win over Geelong, declaring the Swans and Blues are “daylight” ahead of the rest of the AFL competition.
“This Carlton side is main event now,” Lewis told Fox Footy post-game. “I think it’s Sydney and them and then it’s daylight to the rest of the competition. Melbourne champion Garry Lyon said the Blues are “in mint condition right now in the lead up to the finals”.
