Recently, after Superman, with the help of Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen, thwarts Ivo's attempt to defeat him with the Parasite 1.0 armor, AmazoTech goes bankrupt and Alex loses his job. The most recent episode, "Zero Day: Part 1", introduces Gotham Gazette's Vicki Vale, who brings back Alex for an interview where he expresses a deep hatred for Superman, sowing the seeds of distrust for Gazette readers - and even Lois Lane.
What's more is Lex Luthor's full name is Alexander Joseph Luthor. "Alex's" last name has yet to be revealed, leaving it open that this could be discovered later in the show. His advanced scientific knowledge, proven record of being okay with killing Superman, and even his association with the color purple all swing the chances that next season could reveal Alex to be the legendary Luthor himself.
