The Australian praised the contest between her and silver medallist Manuela Schaer, who stuck with her right to the finish lineShe outsprinted Swiss Manuela Schaer in an epic duel to win by one second, clocking one hour 38 minutes 11 seconds.It was a surreal moment for de Rozario, who won her first gold at the Paralympics just six days ago in the T53 800m final.
"It's the greatest thing I've done in my life," she said in an interview with Channel Seven after the race. "I didn't thank that would be the result going in. I knew it was a flat course. I was a little bit intimidated doing another race on the road in Tokyo, particularly in the rain. Last time I had to pull out."There was a hill at the end that I was dreading, but it worked out a little bit in my favour."There was a brilliant moment as the two leaders crossed the line, with de Rozario in shock, and Manuela Schaer smiling behind her.
"It was a tough race and Manuela took the lead on so much and we did a lot of work together, so I couldn't be happier with that."
