Nyck de Vries has confirmed he held talks with Helmut Marko about joining AlphaTauri next season, but insists his future in F1 is beyond his control.
The situation is complicated by Alpine’s planned test with its 2021 car in Budapest next week, in which De Vries,, Jack Doohan and Colton Herta are expected to participate. The team says it is in no hurry to make a decision.
"I don't quite know if I am in such a luxury situation that I can choose," he said on the Dutch TV show"Largely, that is beyond my control.
