UPDATE: Coast Guard says it has spotted a debris field in the search area for missing sub Titan
Officials said around midday Thursday that debris has been found in the search area for missing submersible Titan in the Atlantic Ocean. The search continued into its fourth full day on Thursday as some additional U.S., French and Canadian military assets arrive."A debris field was discovered within the search area by an ROV near the Titanic. Experts within the unified command are evaluating the information," the U.S. Coast Guard Northeast tweeted.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the search area involved an area twice the size of Connecticut. Officials are conducting searches on the surface and bottom of the ocean. The sub lost contact with a surface-based vessel less than two hours into its voyage.
