Deer Park 14s rally from six down to win Coast Region opener

Hardin scored one of Deer Park's nine runs during the fifth inning in Thursday night's Coast Region win over League City.The Deer Park 14-year-old all-stars overcame a 6-0 deficit in their opening game of Pony Baseball’s Coast Region Tournament to claim a 14-7 triumph over the League City all-stars at Bay Area Park Thursday night.
Deer Park, now one victory away from clinching a trip to Louisiana and the South Zone Tournament in Youngsville, will oppose NASA Orange Friday night at 8. With eight team hits on the night, leadoff batter Jacob Moore led the way by going 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs during the team’s two uprisings in the fourth and fifth innings.
After surrendering six runs in the first that required two pitchers to finally put out the fire, Deer Park scratched for one run in the first, second and third innings. Sebastian Unite had the only RBI in those opening three frames. Defensive miscues and poor pitching helped get the deficit down to 6-3, providing a clue as to what was going to come.
