Super Netball: Thunderbirds shooter Lauren Frew is racing the clock to be fit for their major semi final against the Melbourne Vixens.
Scare for Adelaide ahead of semi final! | 00:56The Adelaide Thunderbirds are on their way to the Super Netball grand final and a chance to defend their premiership title , after blowing the Melbourne Vixens off the court 68-43.
Speaking post match, Thunderbirds coach Tania Obst was ecstatic with her teams performance but not shying away from the battle ahead.Tania Obst was pleased with the win. “We need to enjoy the moment, we’ve had some really lean years here and it has been a lot of blood sweat and tears to get ourselves into this situation,” she said.
Vixens tried to mount their own defensive pressure, double-teaming shooter Romelda Aiken-George in the circle, but rookie Lauren Frew played a perfect supporting act. While Aiken-George went on to top score with 39/44, Frew recovered from last week’s ankle injury to finish with 17/18 in her 47 minutes on court to earn her first MVP award of the season.
